Leading PreK Experts Prepare Teachers for Classroom Success at 2019 SDE National Conference, July 8-12, in Las Vegas

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. and LAS VEGAS, March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Featuring dozens of timely topics addressed by leading PreK experts, a strand of sessions at the 2019 SDE National Conference will be dedicated to joyful learning and how to make a positive impact on students. The I Teach PreK! strand will be held July 8–12 in Las Vegas, NV.

"Teachers do make a tangible difference in the learning and achievement of pre-kindergartners. The better prepared the teacher, the more successful the students," according to Laureen Reynolds, SDE program developer. "This can't-miss conference will focus on developing the most important element in the classroom—the teacher. It's the fastest way to get current on the latest research, discover the hottest instructional strategies, and prepare to successfully engage students while meeting today's demands."

The I Teach PreK! strand will deliver the strategies PreK teachers asked for including play-based learning, social-emotional learning, behavior & classroom management, foundational math, early literacy, oral language, ESL, writing, music & movement, and STEM/STEAM.

In a full week of innovative learning, educators will learn to create experiences that support all approaches to learning and encourage social-emotional development in a play-based environment. They'll discover how to incorporate opportunities for students to learn through physical activity. This is also the place to find out how to provide math experiences that stimulate conceptual thinking and talking about numbers and organize the environment to foster independence and curiosity.

Featured PreK experts include Nacole Guyton, PreK literacy strategy developer; Terri Haarala, instructional coach and PreK curriculum developer; Maria Mercedes Champion, early childhood educator and bilingual facilitator; Brandon Williams, PreK teacher and creator of a music album; and Jamie Hubbard, Prek teacher.

Attendees may choose from sessions based on the most requested PreK topics, including:
