NEW YORK, Sept. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital identity authentication leader Payfone announced that its CEO, Rodger Desai, will be speaking at the Eighth Annual GS FinTech Conference taking place today at the Goldman Sachs headquarters in New York. The invite-only conference will be attended by over 1,000 fintech participants.
Payfone will process 19 billion authentications in 2018, protecting banks, brokerage houses, cryptocurrency leaders and other companies against the latest account takeover tactics. Desai will speak to Payfone's success in thwarting attacks such as SIM swaps, fraudulent phone account ports, and phone number-spoofing. These are among the latest methods international crime syndicates use to commit identity theft to take over someone's financial accounts, a global epidemic.
Desai is set to make another appearance next week at Mobile World Congress Americas 2018 in Los Angeles, where he will speak about how Payfone's consortium approach brings together the telecom, banking and government sectors to solve the toughest fraud and digital identity challenges. The discussion will take place on September 12th and will be part of a larger Mobile Connect seminar organized by the GSMA entitled Reducing Fraud through Secure Authentication and ID Verification Services.
