ATS CEO Matt Yerbic Receives Leadership in Aerospace Award

EVERETT, Wash., Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviation Technical Services (ATS) CEO Matt Yerbic has been presented with the Aerospace Futures Alliance's first-ever "Aerospace Executive of the Year" award. Yerbic accepted the honor at the association's 12th Annual Governor's Aerospace Summit held September 7, 2017, in Lynnwood, Washington.

Matt Yerbic CEO of ATS, receives AFA Aerospace Executive of the Year Award from Bill McSherry, Vice President, Boeing

Yerbic, whose more than 30-year career spans his current position at ATS and several executive positions at Alaska Airlines, received the award because of his commitment to AFA as a previous chairman for two consecutive years and his leadership within the industry and ATS. Known for his collaborative leadership style within his own organization, Yerbic has led rapid growth in ATS, tripling revenues and expanding facilities from under 400,000 square feet in Everett to now nearly 1.3 million feet of space across three states and nine locations. Two acquisitions over the past three years have also strengthened the company's capabilities in the components business and created new platforms for accelerated growth. In 2016, Aviation Week recognized ATS with the MRO (maintenance repair and overhaul) of the Year Award in recognition of the company's system and process innovations that enable turnkey fleet integration of midlife aircraft into their customers' fleets in 58% less time.

"Matt is that one-of-a-kind leader who motivates people by his genuine character and ability to connect to employees by knowing what is most important to them," said ATS Vice President of People Amy Henrichsen. "Matt is not someone who just says that we should put people first because it is the "trendy" thing to say, he truly means it and demonstrates it through his actions and genuine concern for employees.  He is passionate about making sure that employees are treated well, have a good environment to work in and have the ability to provide for their families."

Said Yerbic after receiving the award, "It's a great thing to be recognized for doing something you love. I am honored to represent ATS and our employees that make me proud to be a part of it. I am thankful to the AFA for this recognition and look forward to our ongoing work together in shaping the future of aviation in the state of Washington."
