Tru-D to Attend and Exhibit at AHE Exchange 2017
"Smart" UV robot provides unparalleled thorough room disinfection

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --Tru-D SmartUVC, a leader in the UV disinfection space, will attend and exhibit at the AHE Exchange 2017, September 18-19 in Orlando, Florida. Tru-D invites attendees to its booth #413 to learn about its "total room ultraviolet disinfection" robot and how Tru-D implements seamlessly into hospitals' workflows, saving precious dollars and improving patient outcomes.

The Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE) of the American Hospital Association is the professional organization of choice for experts responsible for caring for the patient and resident care environment across all care settings; including hospitals, long-term care, continuing care retirement communities and ambulatory care. AHE represents, defines and advances more than 2,100 professionals working to ensure quality outcomes and healthy communities.

"Studies have proven that manual cleaning is not adequate for terminal room disinfection, and more than half of surfaces can be missed with traditional cleaning protocols," said Chuck Dunn, CEO and President of Tru-D SmartUVC. "Tru-D ensures all surfaces in both direct and indirect light are thoroughly disinfected, eliminating harmful pathogens from the health care environment."

An enhanced cleaning strategy, Tru-D is brought into a room after the environmental services (ES) staff cleans using traditional methods. Tru-D then operates from a single position and administers a single cycle of UV light, destroying harmful pathogens that can remain behind such as C. diff, MRSA, MERS, VRE, Ebola and many more. During the disinfection process, ES professionals are free to complete other tasks such as cleaning rooms, changing linens or other duties. Tru-D alerts the operator when the cycle is complete with an audio and/or text message that the room has been thoroughly disinfected.

"Due to its single placement positioning, Tru-D complements any environmental services team and does not require additional FTEs for operation," said Dunn. "With Tru-D, ES professionals are able to maintain productive time in order to work smarter, not harder, to provide a clean environment for patients and staff."

Tru-D was the only device of its kind selected for the first-ever, randomized, clinical trial on UVC disinfection because of its Sensor360 technology that precisely measures the proper UV dose for every room, eliminating any chance for human error in the disinfection process. Results of the landmark Benefits of Enhanced Terminal Room Disinfection (BETR-D) study proved that enhanced terminal room disinfection strategies using Tru-D decreased risk of acquisition and infection of four major superbugs by a cumulative 30 percent among patients admitted to the same room.

Tru-D invites attendees to their booth #413 to learn more about the gold standard in UV disinfection. For more information, visit Tru-D.com.
