The Technology Innovation Remittances RemTECH Awards to be presented at the United Nations in New York on June 15th
The Global Forum on Remittances, Investment and Development (GFRID2017) will take place in New York on June 15 & 16 coinciding with the International Day of Family Remittances

MIAMI, May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Entries for the Remittance Innovation Awards (RemTECH Awards), whose aim is to showcase the most innovative and outstanding ideas, models and projects designed to improve remittance services worldwide closed this past weekend, May 28th. Thirty-six entries were received from all over the world and close to thirty thousand votes were collected in approximately two months, organizers announced.

The entries are being now judged by an independent judging panel who is selecting the nominees that will be presented at The International Money Transfer & Cross-Border Payments Conference IMTC USA 2017 in San Francisco on June 13 and the  winners will be announced at the formal RemTECH Awards Ceremony on June 15 at the GFRID2017 organized by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the World Bank and the United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA) in New York City at the United Nations Headquarters. The International Day of Family Remittances (IDFR) will be celebrated on June 16 in the context of the GFRD2017 followed by an Evening Night Cruise in New York Harbor hosted by IMTC.

The GFRID2017 is a by-invitation-only event and final applications to assist are closing today, Wednesday, May 31st.

The Independent judges who have been analyzing the entries and are submitting their conclusions include the top consultants and experts of the industry Luis Buenaventura, Greta Geankoplis, Leon Isaacs, Faisal Khan, Yakov Kofner, François Briod, Juan Llanos, Sofia Freyder and Mehul Dasai. Entries have included some of the top brands in the industry, to groundbreaking fintechs and specialized tech-based solutions that will undoubtedly benefit the market ecosystem, improving transparency, speed, cost and reliability for the companies and end-users that send and receive remittances every day.
