Linde Engineering to sponsor, exhibit and present at the AIChE Spring Meeting

SAN ANTONIO, March 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Linde Engineering North America Inc. (LENA) will sponsor, exhibit and share expertise at two topical conferences as part of the AIChE Spring Meeting and13th Global Congress on Process Safety, to be held March 27 – 30.

At the Gas Utilization Conference on Wednesday, March 29, Thomas Walter, Senior Adviser, Integration, will present a novel approach to separating non-condensable constituents in ethane and ethylene liquefaction, minimizing product loss and power consumption. Co-authored with Adrian Wegmann and Kathy Bigger, his presentation is titled "How Non-condensables Affect Your Ethane/Ethylene Liquefaction Process – Different Concepts to Reduce Power Consumption and Product Losses."

Ethylene Producers' Conference (EPC)

LENA will sponsor, exhibit and make presentations on ethylene plant design, safety and operation at the AIChE Ethylene Producers' Conference. On Wednesday, Mark Whitney, Senior Process Engineer, will discuss design challenges for the next industry scale-up of super-sized ethylene plants. Two of the plant major elements, plate-fin heat exchangers and cracking furnaces, will be the focus of the presentation "Building Tomorrow's Mega-scale Ethylene Plants – General Criticality Criteria and Selected Design Aspects for Plate-fin Heat Exchangers and Cracking Furnaces", authored by Alexander Kromp, Gunther Kracker, Axel Lehmacher and Robert Stegemann of Linde Engineering in Munich, Germany. Rounding out Wednesday will be a summary discussion of key elements concerning low temperature safety risk management methodologies across the ethylene production industry. Mr. Whitney will also be a co-author of "Low Temperature Safety Management Practices – an Industry Perspective."

On Thursday, March 30, Gene Irrgang, Global Product Manager for Oxidation Technologies at Selas Linde North America will present "Flameless Thermal Oxidizer Operating Experience," a case study describing this technology and its performance at a VCM plant in the US.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet experts at LENA's booth to learn about the advantages of Linde's high-yield, low maintenance ethylene furnaces and petrochemical plant offerings. Services for expansions, efficiency upgrades and feed flexibility will also be highlighted.
