CHICAGO, Feb. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Personal finance experts and investing specialists from Morningstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: MORN), a leading provider of independent investment research, will cover 360 degrees of retirement readiness on Saturday, March 11, during Morningstar's annual online conference for individual investors. Beginning at 10 a.m. CT, the Retirement Readiness Bootcamp is a free webcast and features a variety of analysts regularly seen on Morningstar.com®, the company's individual investor website.

"Whether you're five, 10, or 15 years away from retirement, financial decisions throughout your life will affect retirement. The Retirement Readiness Bootcamp is designed to provide timely and critical information to guide the everyday investor down the path to retirement," Jeremy Glaser, editor of Morningstar.com, said. "We will discuss some of the knotty questions that can be hard to answer: Am I ready to retire? How much income do I really need? What non-portfolio sources of income can I count on? What will happen if I fall short? Having the answers to these questions will help the investor craft a sound retirement portfolio and plan for the future."

Speakers include Christine Benz, Morningstar's director of personal finance; David Blanchett, head of retirement research for Morningstar Investment Management; Maria Bruno, senior investment analyst at Vanguard Investment Strategy Group; Michael Kitces, director of research and partner at Pinnacle Advisory Group and co-founder of XY Planning Network; and Mark Miller, retirement columnist and Morningstar contributor.

Morningstar Research Services LLC experts that will participate in the discussions include Sarah Bush, director of fixed-income manager research; Russel Kinnel, director of manager research; and Ben Johnson, director of global ETF and passive strategies research. Topics will range from determining what percentage of a current income will need to be replaced after retirement, how to maximize other sources of income such as Social Security or pensions, the optimal retirement portfolio structure, offsetting shortfalls in a retirement plan, and top fund, stock, and exchange-traded fund picks.
