Upcoming Conference Motivates Georgia Kindergarten Teachers to Innovate and Excel

ATLANTA and PETERBOROUGH, N.H., Nov. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The educational climate in Georgia is one of innovation, which means teachers cannot afford to rest on their laurels. They must continually adopt new and better ways to perform their critical jobs. That's why the 2016 Conference for Georgia Kindergarten Teachers, hosted by Staff Development for Educators (SDE) and coming December 5–6, 2016 to Atlanta, GA, was developed. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to learn new skills and sharpen their existing ones.

"Georgia has several strong initiatives underway in the areas of STEM and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports. In addition, teachers have told us they need new tools and resources to help them with time management and differentiated instruction. This year's conference offers a strong program of content-rich sessions packed with the latest information and strategies surrounding the topics on teachers' minds," SDE program developer Mia Leonard-Solis says.

The conference will provide attendees with a carefully researched and tested collection of tips to help them teach core content areas, integrate technology, target specific interventions, maximize learning in centers, and meet their standards for math and literacy. The 32 upbeat sessions, designed to both educate and motivate, are packed with simple techniques already working for kindergarten teachers across the country.

The all-star line-up of presenters includes acclaimed educators and gifted teachers who'll bring the latest strategies to life with real-world examples. Featured presenters include Mary Amoson, blogger and veteran kindergarten teacher, and Lori Elliott, Ed.D., technology expert and author of the Teach Like a Techie series of books.

Attendees will be surprised and delighted at the new methods revealed in this conference for turning around their biggest challenges—from fitting it all in to managing difficult behavior to creating independent readers. Through interactive exercises and make-and-take sessions, they'll discover how to effectively organize and manage a child-centered learning environment, address the behavioral needs of their students, implement innovative STEM ideas, and provide hands-on opportunities for social and academic growth.

"The opportunity to share new ideas, compare notes, and support each other in trying out new techniques is invaluable. There is no other conference, anywhere, that comes close to the networking, educational, and motivational power of the 2016 Conference for Georgia Kindergarten Teachers," Leonard-Solis says.
