Expedia to Host Local Hackathon in Chicago
Programmers of all levels are invited to explore Expedia's global APIs in a weekend dedicated to innovation and creativity

CHICAGO, April 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Expedia, Inc. is proud to be hosting its first public hackathon in Chicago, featuring Expedia's global Application Program Interfaces (APIs), on April 30May 1, 2016, at TechNexus.

Expedia, Inc. recently acquired Orbitz Worldwide, which has a strong presence in the Chicago area. The merged engineering teams are eager to band together with local software developers and innovators for a weekend dedicated to developing new ideas and programming concepts, while experimenting with the company's renowned global software. Participants will have two days to identify new ideas and turn them into working prototypes. Final products will be pitched to a panel of judges consisting of members from Expedia's technology team and Chicago-based industry authorities including Pascal Collet, Senior Director of Technology at Expedia Worldwide Engineering and Ryan Kowalczyk Senior Director of Global Product at Expedia, Inc. Winning prizes are sure to delight the crowd and entice bold concepts.

Everyone is welcome, but space is limited: register early as participants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is available online at 2016-expedia-hackathon-chicago.devpost.com. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. CDT April 30 for check-in and teams will present their projects to the judges on Sunday afternoon.
