ViaSat Brings Advanced Integrated In-Flight Cabin and Flight Deck Connectivity to Business Aviation
Collaboration with Rockwell Collins Provides Comprehensive Cabin and Cockpit Connectivity on ViaSat's Best Available Global Network

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- (NBAA 2015 – ViaSat Booth # C7022) – ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), a global broadband services and technology company, today announced it is working with Rockwell Collins to integrate the ViaSat VMT-1500 terminal and its global Ku-band internet service with Rockwell Collins' eRouter (ERT-120) smart cabin routers and its ARINCDirectSM flight support services. Through this collaboration, business aircraft operators will obtain comprehensive cabin and cockpit connectivity capabilities.

Designed to serve "office in the sky" applications, ViaSat's global Ku-band in-flight technology and internet service allows those on board to send and receive emails, establish VPN connections, watch streaming video and participate in video conferencing and high-quality Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone calls with the ADConnect VoIP app for iOS and Android™ - when in the air and on the ground for seamless gate-to-gate communications. Integrating the ViaSat technology and service with the Rockwell Collins in-cabin routing and management systems aids in full aircraft connectivity enablement, extending advanced passenger connectivity capabilities to the cabin crew and flight deck, whereby flight crews using the ARINCDirect Flight Planning app can access their account and update flight plans, weather, charts and trip documents while en route.

"We teamed with Rockwell Collins to offer business jet operators a single, comprehensive suite of cabin connectivity capabilities across our advanced global internet service," said Ken Peterman, senior vice president and general manager, ViaSat. "By integrating our Ku-band terminal and service with Rockwell Collins' smart router – we are providing aircraft system data communications that is value-added, cost competitive and accommodates the growing demand for high-speed connectivity across the entire aircraft."

"Operators want to provide in-flight global connectivity and are installing advanced satellite-based internet systems for cabin and cockpit communications – whether for streaming media, office applications, telephony, regulatory flight routing, congestion control or aircraft health monitoring, to name a few," said David Stanley, vice president, ARINCDirect Cabin Services for Rockwell Collins. "By working with ViaSat, we are bringing a complete, cost-effective and reliable connectivity to business jet operators looking to provide their passengers with high-speed, high-quality internet communications, with global coverage."
