NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- #BankSocial, the first conference dedicated to helping financial institutions harness social media to build and rebuild positive connections within their communities, has just added two powerful new sessions to the conference line-up for Thursday, April 7th and Friday, April 8th, 2016, in Newark. Fleming, Ph.D., Chief Scientist for Marketplace Consulting and HumanSigma at Gallup, will introduce conference attendees to Gallup's HumanSigma approach to client and employee engagement; on Friday, Mark Traphagen, Senior Director of Online Marketing at Stone Temple Consulting, will show participants how to leverage the combined power of social media and search marketing.

"I'm grateful to have these fascinating people presenting at #BankSocial," said #BankSocial founder John Siracusa. "Social media is a very powerful yet practical tool for financial institutions that want to reach out to their communities in a meaningful way. In Dr. Fleming's and Mr. Traphagen's sessions, #BankSocial attendees will learn how to begin making those connections. And these sessions are a small sampling of the promise #BankSocial will deliver on."

In his session, "Manage Your HumanSigma: Leveraging the Untapped Potential of the Employee-Customer Encounter," Dr. Fleming will use the lens of Gallup's HumanSigma approach to explore how the employee and customer experiences are intertwined — and how they can be managed to promote organizational health and bring about greater performance.

"The moment when an employee connects emotionally with a customer is a source of untapped power, one that has profound implications for a company's profitability," Dr. Fleming states. "When front-line employees are prepared to make the most of these moments, they engage their customers - who then visit more often and spend more money. Companies can drive true organic growth by empowering employees to optimize each and every customer interaction."

Traphagen's session, "Search and Social: Unite and Conquer!" will take a practical approach to search optimization and social media marketing. Attendees will dig into data to learn the truth about how search and social media interact, see why they must integrate their search and social media campaigns, and walk away with a to-do list of ready-to-use, proven search and social media strategies to boost visibility and engagement in their communities.

"Sadly, there are a lot of myths circulating about the relationship between social media and search, says Mark Traphagen. "The good news is that we have done the testing, and we have solid answers about the real relationship between the two. When businesses understand and adopt a more holistic approach to their digital marketing based on this data, they get a huge boost from the real symbiotic relationship between social and search."

Together with Siracusa and the #BankSocial panel of speakers, Dr. Fleming and Traphagen aim to help banks see social media not as a struggle but as an opportunity. #BankSocial participants will leave the conference with a clear vision for their social media efforts and a blueprint to follow in building positive, mutually beneficial relationships within their spheres of influence.
