Learn GIAC Certification Exam Preparation Tips at SANS San Francisco Cyber Security Training Event
Course Line-Up Includes Several Courses Affiliated with GIAC Certifications

BETHESDA, Md., May 2, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in cyber security training and certifications, today announced SANS San Francisco Summer 2019 (#SANSSF) taking place July 22-27 in California. The event features cutting-edge courseware covering cyber defense, OSINT, ethical hacking, SIEM, penetration testing, digital forensics, secure development, and ICS security. Included on the agenda is a talk by senior security analyst for Rackspace Managed Security, Ronald (Ron) Hamann (@airforceteacher), "Are you Certifiable?"

Hamann comments, "Certification tests are hard—it's okay to say that out loud, right? They're even harder when you have to balance studying with work, family, or even other schoolwork. While I can't give you a surefire 'you will definitely pass' copy of my index, I can share how to make your index the best it can be and offer tips to improve test prep. Join me in San Francisco where I will take off my instructor hat and share my 'busy person's plan' for taking a GIAC exam."

In addition to his talk, Hamann will teach SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling, which is affiliated with the GCIH certification. This course will help students turn the tables on attackers by providing a time-tested, step-by-step process for responding to computer incidents, and a detailed description of how attackers undermine systems.

SANS San Francisco Summer 2019 features eight courses that are affiliated with specialized GIAC certifications. These courses include SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style (GSEC), SEC530: Defensible Security Architecture and Engineering (GDSA), SEC555: SIEM with Tactical Analytics (GCDA), SEC660: Advanced Penetration Testing, Exploit Writing, and Ethical Hacking (GXPN), FOR500: Windows Forensic Analysis (GCFE), and FOR572: Advanced Network Forensics: Threat Hunting, Analysis, and Incident Response (GNFA).
