Minerva Announces Expansion of Its Educational System To Enable Innovation at Institutions of All Sizes

SAN FRANCISCO, April 8, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Minerva Project announced today at the ASU GSV Summit its plans for a major expansion of its innovative education system with capabilities that will enable partner institutions to conduct classes of up to 400 students. Built upon seven years of development and decades of research into the science of learning, Minerva's education system includes its pedagogy, intentionally scaffolded curriculum design, and proprietary Forum learning environment, designed to offer fully active learning classes in real time.

With its expanded features, the updated version of Forum will maintain the high levels of class engagement for larger groups that Minerva pioneered in its small-format seminars and offers a practical solution for institutions of all types and sizes to utilize scientifically validated instructional techniques.

"Minerva will be able to offer any institution committed to improving educational outcomes a significant advance in the way they teach," said Ben Nelson, founder and CEO of Minerva. "Our system is a comprehensive redesign of pedagogy, curriculum, and the class environment, with the specific goal of advancing the intellectual development of each student."

In addition to institutions of higher education, the system can be utilized by pre-college programs, corporations, governments, and non-governmental organizations. Now institutions can improve learning outcomes by reshaping their offerings, extending their access to new students, and enhancing leadership training and professional growth programming. Minerva is also demonstrating a new and powerful use of its educational system: the creation and expansion of new institutions of higher learning.

Two such institutions are SRM University AP, Amaravati and Oxford Teachers Academy. Both will be joining Minerva on stage at the ASU GSV Summit to discuss the opportunities and benefits of implementing the Minerva system.

"As a new university in a new capital city, we seek to transform the minds of our students through active learning, enhanced by the latest technology and informed by research on how the brain learns," said Dr. Jamshed Bharucha, inaugural Vice Chancellor of SRM University AP, Amaravati. "We are excited to partner with Minerva, whose innovative system will strengthen our interdisciplinary curriculum, engaging students in classes both large and small, learning through discovery and interaction."

The enhanced version of Forum will launch in September in parallel with the fall semester in the United States and other international markets, including Eastern Asia, South Asia and Eastern Europe. Partner institutions in these regions will be offering programs for undergraduates, graduate students, and professional learners.
