SAN DIEGO, March 11, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Mary Jean Anderson, owner/president of Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air, one of the top 100 plumbing, heating and air companies in the United States, will speak at OLP's Fifth Annual Women's Symposium on March 15, 2019 at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace.
Modeled after speaker panels at leading universities, the OLP's Women's Symposium brings together top women leaders to share their insights and pathways to success with students and the community. Through dialogue and modeling, the female leaders will share experiences and insights to help empower young women to stand up for themselves and fearlessly chase their dreams.
Mary Jean Anderson will speak at the 'Overcoming Adversity' panel along with Lorena Slomanson, Development Director, Legal Aid Society of San Diego; Michelle Flores-Gonzalez, VP, Director of Operations, Flores Financial Services, Inc.; Holly Smithson, CEO, Athena; Dr. Ann Scarborough-Bull, Chief of Environmental Services (Ret.) Bureau of Ocean Energy.
The 'Overcoming Adversity' Panelists will share how they have surpassed roadblocks in their trajectory, allowing themselves to 'fail forward' and rise up from their challenges. They will discuss their first steps in overcoming adversity, and the turning points where they changed their failures into successes as well as how they overcame societal standards and personal obstacles to become the empowered women they are today.
