ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 30, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) is pleased to announce that Texas Senator Kelly Hancock (R) will keynote the inaugural Specialty & Custom Chemicals America trade show, February 11-14, in Fort Worth, TX.
SOCMA is partnering with Specialty & Custom Chemicals America to offer not only a networking event to kick off the show – Cowboys & Chemicals, set for February 11 at River Ranch in Fort Worth's Historic Stockyards District – but also educational programming that focuses on key issues impacting the industry. The keynote address is scheduled for 9 a.m., Tuesday, February 12.
As co-founder and owner/operator of Advanced Chemical Logistics, Hancock is no stranger to the chemical industry. With longtime involvement in industry and innovation, the Senator plans to share how he has transitioned that knowledge and entrepreneurial experience to his Chairmanship of the Business and Commerce Committee and other government roles.
"With the 10th largest economy in the world, Texas prides itself on a business environment that fosters growth and innovation," said Chairman Hancock. "That's just one of the reasons why I'm so glad to welcome the first-ever Specialty & Custom Chemicals America trade show to Fort Worth."
First elected to the Senate in 2012, Hancock also serves as Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee and as a member of the Natural Resources & Economic Development Committee, the Property Tax Committee, and the budget-writing Finance Committee.
"We are thrilled to have Senator Hancock share his extensive industry insight and give us a glimpse of what he is seeing on the Texas landscape and beyond," said SOCMA President & CEO Jennifer Abril. "With the specialty chemical industry comprised of innovative problem solvers, the Senator's business acumen and understanding of the industry, including the challenges it faces and the opportunities that await, will be invaluable.
"All of our speakers throughout the course of the show bring a unique perspective regarding everything from capital and investments to sustainability and sourcing and the future of our industry through the eyes of our emerging leaders," Abril said. "These are sessions that attendees won't want to miss."
