Prospera Financial Services Hosts Annual Independent Advisor Conference in Southlake, Texas
Boutique Independent Broker Dealer, Prospera Financial Services, gathered over 140 advisors and industry personnel from across the country to address issues facing the financial industry today

DALLAS, Oct. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Prospera Financial Services, Inc. (Prospera) held its annual conference, CONNECT 2018, at the Hilton Southlake Town Square, October 10 through October 12 in Southlake, Texas. Prospera had a successful turnout with over 140 attendees from all over the country.

The conference kicked off with sessions covering Prospera's cloud-based advisor platform, COREngine, and how advisors can best utilize its functions for their practices. Following these meetings were three back-to-back breakout sessions by representatives of several of the different advisory models that Prospera has to offer, including the debut of Prospera's most recent partnership with Brookmont Capital in Dallas, Texas. The breakouts were supplemented by an overview of Prospera's advisory platform, giving advisors a look at "What Works, What's New, and What Other Advisors are Doing."

Keynote topics included a presentation from Duncan MacPherson, CEO of Pareto, on how to not only be a financial advisor to clients, but become their "personal CFO." Susan Bradley, founder of Sudden Money Institute, spoke about transition events that happen in every client's life and how advisors can prepare for and react to them. Another notable presenter was Rod Smyth, Director of Investments at RiverFront Investment Group, who gave a market update and described the "tug of war" between global economic growth and geopolitical tensions. 

In addition, Prospera held breakout sessions where advisors had the opportunity to meet in smaller groups to discuss product specific information with the sponsors. Breakout topics included leveraging LinkedIn and social media, how to best help business owner clients strategize their companies and exit plans, investing in energy markets, and insurance products. Advisors received valuable information that will benefit them in continuing their education and growing their practice.
