State's largest real estate trade show, REimagine!, opens next week in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- CALIFORNIA REALTORS® will gather for the state's largest real estate trade show next week at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif.  Previously known as California REALTOR® Expo and reengineered and rebranded this year as REimagine!, the trade show, running Oct. 9-11, offers three full days of valuable and insightful seminars, learning experiences, and networking opportunities for California REALTORS®.

Highlights of REimagine! include:

Tuesday, Oct. 9

Pre-conference
Pre-conference is a day of targeted content in five tracks: new or experienced agents needing a comprehensive business plan; real estate teams who want to create a winning team with longevity and drive; new or seasoned agents looking for tangible ideas, powerful insights, and valuable connections from industry-leading coaches; new agents who want to learn how to set goals, manage listings, navigate transactions and complete forms; and brokers, owners and managers who want to refine their leadership skills, vision, and core values. Key sessions include a keynote by Steve Garvey, legendary Los Angeles Dodger; keynote by Steph Davis, professional rock climber, wingsuit pilot, base jumper and author; a CEO profile with Mark McLaughlin, CEO of Pacific Union International; and a discussion with Robert Reffkin, founder and CEO of Compass. The Party and Exhibit Hall Opening
REimagine! will kick off the Exhibit Hall opening with The Party at 5 p.m., providing attendees with an opportunity to network, meet with vendors and discover the hottest new trends and products for the real estate industry and get a drink from a brewery.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

REal Talks
Wednesday morning kicks off with REal Talks — fast-paced, 20-minute presentations designed to inspire and motivate. Key sessions include: "Top Producer Principles for Success," with Sally Forster Jones, executive director of Luxury Estates at Compass; "How to Handle Disruption," with Wendy Forsythe, COO of HomeSmart International; and "It's Your Move," with Josh Altman, Bravo TV personality and owner of The Altman Brothers.

Deep-dive
Wednesday afternoon will include deep-dive sessions such as "REALTORS® Who Are Crushing It," with Ron Wynn, Coldwell Banker; Adam Glick, Coldwell Banker; Sandra Miller, Engel & Volkers; Bahareh Kamoei, BBS Brokers Realty; Warren Fortier, Warren Fortier Real Estate Group at Keller Williams; Leonard Rivera, Warren Fortier Real Estate Group at Keller Williams; and moderated by C.A.R. CEO Joel Singer.

At "iBuyers – the Faster, Better Way?," REALTORS® can understand the borrower of the future by being equipped with the data, resources and tools to build a stronger knowledge base and become the trusted advisor to current and future buyers.

Keynote Luncheon
Wednesday's keynote luncheon speaker is Platon, world-renowned, award-winning photographer and subject of Netflix's documentary "Abstract: The Art of Design." Platon will share his experiences photographing an eclectic mix of world leaders, celebrities, men and women in the military, members of the civil rights movement, and human rights champions. He'll share stories from his photo essays including his photo for TIME magazine of Aung San Suu Kyi and photographing Edward Snowden for Wired magazine. (Paid event)

Thursday, Oct. 11

REal Talks
REal Talks resumes Thursday with sessions including: "Culture of Accountability for Success," with Vanessa Bergmark, owner and president of Red Oak Realty; "The Search for Humanity in Real Estate," with Caroline Pinal, co-founder of Giveback Homes; "Raising the Standards," with Gretchen Pearson, president of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Drysdale Properties; and "Lessons from a Top Broker," with John Aaroe, founder of John Aaroe Group and strategic advisor of Pacific Union International.

Deep-dive
Thursday's deep-dive sessions include: "How Are California's Mayors Tackling the Housing Crisis?," presented by C.A.R.'s Center for California Real Estate's California Series. C.A.R. CEO Joel Singer will moderate a discussion with mayors from Anaheim, Santa Ana, Pomona, and El Monte to discuss how they are tackling the housing affordability crisis in their cities.

Keynote Luncheon
Thursday's keynote luncheon speaker is C.A.R. Chief Economist Leslie Appleton-Young. She'll present her "2019 Housing Market Forecast" and share valuable information and insight about next year's California housing market, including projected home sales, median prices, housing affordability, inventory supply, and mortgage rates and availability.
