LifeNet Health to feature pioneering surgical solutions at AAOS Annual Meeting
Advanced allograft implants include innovative grafts for bone healing in orthopedic and trauma applications

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., March 6, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- LifeNet Health, the world's leading provider of allograft healing solutions, will feature its portfolio of advanced allografts at the 2018 AAOS Annual Meeting in New Orleans March 7-9 (Booth 5629), including the ViviGen® suite of cellular bone grafts and the new PliaFX® Strip pre-formed demineralized fibers.

The recently launched PliaFX® Strip is a 100-percent cortical bone allograft composed of optimally demineralized fibers. It was engineered to give surgeons precise handling while creating a hospitable environment for bone growth.

"If you need scaffolding to augment your fusion, including bridging osteotomy and laminectomy defects, PliaFX (Strip) is rigid enough to maintain its form but pliable enough to form and stick to irregular surfaces," said Dana Adkins, MD, a neurosurgeon with Sentara Neurosurgery Specialists in Norfolk, Va. "I have incorporated it for regular use in my posterior spinal fusions."

Backed by more than 80 patented innovations, LifeNet Health offers allograft implants designed to support healing across a wide array of surgical applications. The global regenerative-medicine organization has worked side-by-side with surgeons to develop grafts tailored specifically to the needs of clinicians and their patients.

PliaFX Strip is just the latest in LifeNet Health's state-of-the-art grafts. In 2017, LifeNet Health and DePuy Synthes® launched ViviGen Formable® Cellular Bone Matrix, a graft with lineage-committed, viable bone cells to facilitate bone growth in orthopedic and spine surgeries, as well as trauma procedures. ViviGen cellular allografts offer clinicians desirable handling characteristics while providing the critical components necessary for bone formation.

"The combination of our technological innovations and precision tissue engineering with direct insight from surgeons around the world enables LifeNet Health to provide implants that support healing in ways that simply weren't possible before," said Daniel Osborne, LifeNet Health's Vice President of Global Marketing. "This means clinicians can rely on LifeNet Health grafts to help them operate efficiently, while patents can heal effectively."
