Cutting-Edge UI/UX Designer Fede Ponce Guides Luxury Carmakers to Next Level of User Experience, Melding Functionality and Aesthetics
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- International UI/UX designer Fede Ponce, known for his groundbreaking user interface concepts for BMW, project leadership for China's Great Wall Motors and current creative work with Infiniti, is available for interviews about his visionary design approaches on display at the Detroit Auto Show.
"The new Graphical User Interface (GUI) that we've been working on at Infiniti is a major step forward in design and functionality, elevating mere data display to fine art," said Ponce, who is also this year's chairman of the China Automotive Human-Machine Interaction Summit in April in Shanghai. "We are moving data into a truly aesthetic smart, interconnected experience."
Ponce on design breakthroughs to look for at Detroit:
What cool advances will we see in UI/UX design at the show?
- The biggest advancement you'll see is on the technical development based on design philosophies and the delivery of these services. The question here comes down to real world execution and the definition of a clear vision for delivering these services in a unique and seamless manner.
- We are evolving the UI experience from a flat screen to an invisible aesthetic experience that transcends the physicality of the device.
- Ultimately this all happens under the hood and at the end of the day we don't want the user to interact -- we want the user to FLOW with an inspiring and dynamic piece of art.
Can you discuss your work with Infiniti, and the breakthrough GUI?
- The work being done at Infiniti is highly confidential. But I can say that the company is incredibly bold. Some of the most brilliant minds and designers are becoming increasingly attracted to what's happening at Nissan, Infiniti in Japan.
- The way all of Infiniti's departments are connecting in order to find solutions is unprecedented in my experience. I have consulted in three separate markets with several OEMs in the U.S., Latin America and Asia and I have never seen such a flawless level of cooperation from sketch to finished product as I saw this year at Infiniti. There is a technological renaissance happening in Japan and Infiniti is at the heart of it. They are going to change the game.
Ponce is available this week and at the Show for interviews.
