Andrew Acedo, Outreach Director of NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, said the following, "NewFilmmakers Los Angeles is honored to officially select the fantastic documentary I Lived on Parker Avenue to be showcased at our 2nd annual Docuslate Film Festival in partnership with the International Documentary Association (IDA). After receiving an overwhelming amount of incredible documentaries in the past year, I Lived on Parker Avenue is one of 18 groundbreaking films that we have accepted into our festival.  We cannot wait to host its World Premier on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the South Park Center in Downtown Los Angeles. I Lived on Parker Avenue is an inspiring new short documentary that follows the dramatic cross-country reunion between then Louisiana college student David Scotton and his Indiana-based birth parents Melissa and Brian, who hadn't seen him since the day he was born. The film explores the life stories of David, Melissa, Brian and David's parents, Susan and Jimmy. The film is scheduled to be released in March, and its trailer has been viewed more than 344,000 times online on Facebook and on the film's website, www.ILivedOnParkerAve.com.

"It is an honor as a filmmaker to be accepted to the Docuslate Film Festival in Los Angeles, especially after knowing how many other films were considered," said Philip Braun III, director of I Lived on Parker Avenue. "I am looking forward to sharing this moving story with the film community."

David Scotton, the main subject of the documentary, also reacted to the news, saying: "I cannot wait for my story as told by I Lived on Parker Avenue to be shared in Los Angeles. My family and I are so thankful for the gift of adoption, and it is our hope that viewers across the nation will be inspired by I Lived on Parker Avenue's powerful message."
