15th Women's Global Leadership Conference in Energy Seeks to Inspire the Next Generation of Female Leaders in Oil and Gas Industry
Nov. 1-2 Houston conference expects to attract more than 650 women to enhance skills, explore opportunities to advance professional leadership

HOUSTON, Oct. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Women in the international oil and gas industry will convene in Houston Nov. 1-2 for the 15th Women's Global Leaders Conference in Energy to explore ways to fine tune professional and technical skills and set a path to leadership opportunities.

Presented by Gulf Publishing Company, the conference focuses presentations and networking opportunities to help women learn new skills from each other, as well as their male counterparts, to advance their careers in the industry.

A 13-member advisory committee for the Women's Global Leadership Conference, representing a cross-section of the industry, developed the two-day agenda to inspire the next generation of female leaders in the oil and gas industry.

Advisory Committee Chair Susan Ganz, Public Relations Manager – Western Hemisphere of Schlumberger, said the conference is unique to the industry because of its focus on professional career development topics.

"While the conference will provide a review of the state of the industry, it is in the context of the professional opportunities that are created by this dynamic industry, even during times of transition," said Ganz. "Now in its 15th year, this conference sets the bar in offering relevant content that can be applied immediately toward professional development."

Three keynote presentations highlighting the conference include:

  • "The Essentials of Engineering Leadership and Innovation" from Dr. Pamela McCauley, Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at the University of Central Florida;
  • "Turning Support for Inclusion and Diversity Into Real Results" from Niall McCormack, Vice President Exploration at BHP Petroleum; and
  • "Navigating a Successful Career in the Oil & Gas Industry: Lessons Learned Over 25+ Years" from Susan Rosenbaum, Director of Discipline Career Management and Knowledge Management at Schlumberger.

In addition to keynotes and several panelists' presentations, the conference offers several networking sessions for professionals in various disciplines including legal, upstream technical, midstream/downstream technical, marketing and communication, human resources, and accounting and finance.

The 15th Women's Global Leadership Conference in Energy will be held Nov. 1-2 at the Hyatt Regency downtown Houston. For more information visit www.wglnetwork.com.
