Government finalists demonstrate faster, affordable processes with OnBase case management functionality

CLEVELAND, Sept. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyland has selected three finalists for its second annual OnBase Innovation Awards for Government, recognizing the most innovative solutions driving government efficiency with OnBase by Hyland. The 2017 finalists represent three different government segments – state, local and tribal – and highlight how OnBase case management functionality drives significant ROI.

Hyland's 2017 OnBase Innovation Award finalists for Government are:

  • Richland County utilizes OnBase case management functionality to send Freedom of Information requests to more than 26 departments throughout the South Carolina county. OnBase case management empowered responding departments to easily upload documents into the enterprise information platform, using the Outlook integration application, and then track and report on the status to respond to FOIA requests in a timely manner.
  • State of Nebraska uses OnBase case management as a construction project management toolset, handling financials and overseeing projects related to deferred maintenance, Americans with Disabilities Act, energy conservation and fire life safety for state buildings. OnBase case management has transformed the entire construction project management process, optimizing every touch point with greater processing speed, power and access to information. In addition, the data reporting capabilities help track $20 million used annually and $50 million tied to active projects.
  • Forrest County Potawatomi Community has leveraged OnBase case management since 2016. The federally recognized American Indian tribe initiated its implementation to address tracking locations of physical files stored at its northern and southern offices, along with suggested retention schedules for each file. The solution has benefitted the entire legal department, providing quick access to files and accurate searches. Additionally, the solution has decreased monthly file destruction processes by over 50 percent – from two hours to 45 minutes.

"This year's OnBase Innovation Award finalists for Government have raised the bar, promoting the unique and impactful case management solutions that have saved time and money, supported greater efficiency and helped improve constituent services," said Terri Jones, solution marketing manager for government at Hyland. "Congratulations to all three of our finalists. We're looking forward to seeing who is selected as the winner at CommunityLIVE."

The winner of the 2017 OnBase Innovation Award for Government will be announced on Tuesday, September 19 at CommunityLIVE, hosted at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
