28th Annual SRI Conference Increases Focus on Investment Advisor Education
Industry's pioneering conference expands to accommodate growing interest from advisor community

BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The SRI Conference announced today that the 2017 event will put more focus on equipping investment advisors with tools, knowledge, and connections that will help them grow their sustainable, responsible, impact (SRI) investing practices.

The 28th annual SRI Conference will be held on the West Coast for the first time, running from November 1–3, 2017 at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California.

Conference organizers anticipate a record attendance, with 800 investment professionals expected, and with a substantial portion of the increase being client-facing advisors.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with thought leaders, executives, and product providers to expand their knowledge around today's most salient SRI issues. The Conference program will feature issue experts who will simplify complex themes and guide advisors as they navigate the flood of evolving Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data and analysis. ESG factor analysis and integration is at the core of most responsible investment strategies.

Industry experts will host sessions that provide actionable advice on how to operate a successful practice serving socially conscious investors, identify trends in ESG integration, determine materiality within ESG data, and evaluate future investment options in the SRI/ESG space.

Upon the Conference's completion, advisors who attend will be able to:

  • Understand how SRI/ESG is integrated across mainstream asset management.
  • Help clients align issues they're most passionate about with investments designed to guide their financial future.
  • Develop stories that effectively convey how client investments can have a positive impact.
  • Market their services to the growing population of purpose-driven investors and grow their practices.

"Demand for SRI products from institutions and individual investors continues to grow significantly, bringing us to an important juncture for advisors," said Steve Schueth, President of First Affirmative Financial Network and Producer of The SRI Conference. "Advisors see the trend gaining steam, but often struggle with how to make SRI a successful part of their practice. Our goal is that attendees will walk away with a deeper understanding of the issues their clients care about most deeply."

This year's Conference will offer 9 to 12 hours of continuing education (CE) credits for CFPs, CFAs, and CIMAs, including a three-hour Fundamentals of Sustainable and Impact Investing course offering from the US SIF Foundation (separate registration fee).
