Federal prosecutor Preet Bharara led the influential Southern District of New York for seven years, where he was known for his vigorous prosecutions of hacking, political corruption and financial insider training. During his tenure, the Southern District prosecuted core members of the computer hacking groups LulzSec and Anonymous. Together with the FBI, the office executed the largest international takedown of defendants allegedly engaged in the theft of personal identification information and other crimes over the Internet.

"There is no issue more urgent than the cyber threat for business today," according to Mr. Bharara. "Cyber crime by nation states, hacktivists and criminals threatens our public infrastructure and economic markets, in a world where crime can happen at the click of a mouse behind the veil of anonymity that the Internet provides."

This year's speakers are amongst the most influential global experts, who understand the current threats and will share how to successfully address them. Additional keynote speakers include NBC commentator and author Malcolm Nance, whose book, The Plot to Hack America, predicted that Russian hackers were trying to influence the 2017 elections; and cybersecurity guru Bruce Schneier, considered one of the deepest and most technically literate thinkers about cybersecurity in the world today.

The 2017 theme is cyber risk jumps to hyperspace, reflecting the increasing complexity, velocity and frequency of cyber crime. In today's connected world, cyber crime seems to be everywhere--at home, at work and in the devices we carry with us around the clock. Information security threats are more complex, widespread and challenging to address than ever before. And their speed has increased, as new vulnerabilities are discovered and exploited on a daily basis. Organizations and government agencies of all sizes are under attack, putting the personal information of millions of people at risk. How do we protect ourselves from cyber risk that has gone into hyperspace? This is the question we'll address at the CyberScoutTM Privacy XChange Forum.

Privacy XChange Forum will take place at the Westin Lake Las Vegas, October 22-24. To register for the conference, visit http://privacyxchangeforum.com/
