Geneia Receives NCQA eMeasure Certification for Important Preventive Care
Builds upon NCQA Accreditation for its Care Management Programs

HARRISBURG, Pa., June 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Geneia, a healthcare analytics and technology leader, has achieved National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA)-certification for two measures, Diabetes: Hemoglobin A1c Poor Control and Breast Cancer Screening, for electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM) released January 2017 for the Theon® advanced analytics and insights platform. The certification builds upon the company's commitment to validation of its clinical programs and advanced analytics solution. In 2016, Geneia was awarded full, three-year NCQA Case Management Accreditation and Patient and Practitioner Oriented Disease Management Accreditation for its asthma, coronary artery disease, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes programs (https://www.geneia.com/news-events/press-releases/2016/august/geneia-awarded-ncqa-accreditation-for-its-care-management-programs).

Geneia's level of commitment to NCQA validation is unique.

The company is one of only five organizations, as of June 7, to be awarded eCQM certification for the January 2017 release. Similarly, for care management programs, only 32 organizations were accredited for standalone complex case management and 17 had achieved this distinction for standalone disease management services, as of August 2016[1].

"We're thrilled the NCQA continues to recognize the high caliber of Geneia's clinical programs and analytics platform," said Shelley Riser, RN, BSN, MSHA, Geneia's vice president of consulting services and clinical innovation. "Our health plan clients, in particular, take great comfort in knowing our robust combination of care management programs and analytics have been externally validated by the nation's most prestigious accrediting body."

NCQA eMeasure CertificationSM simplifies and improves HEDIS® and Medicare Star reporting for Geneia's health plan and provider clients. Specifically,

  • The output from Geneia's analytics platform can be used as standard supplemental data for HEDIS® and Medicare Star reporting.
  • Costly and time-consuming chart reviews required for reporting supplemental data are reduced.
  • The code used to generate data is pre-approved by the NCQA, which may decrease HEDIS® audit requirements.
