Management Concepts Announces Presentations at ASMC PDI 2017

TYSONS CORNER, Va., May 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Management Concepts Inc., the nation's premier provider of professional development, performance improvement, and human capital solutions for the public sector, today announced four of its experts will present six unique sessions at the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) National Professional Development Institute (PDI), taking place May 31 through June 2, 2017 in San Diego, California.

Tim Bowden, Executive Director for Consulting Delivery at Management Concepts, will present "Building Employee Engagement in the FM Workforce." In this workshop, participants will create a roadmap for improving engagement within their teams and organizations, and explore how to unlock sustained improvements in organizational climate, culture, and performance.

Robert Black, CGFM and Senior Instructor for Financial Management at Management Concepts, will present two mini-courses:

  • "Internal Controls: Meeting Federal Requirements for Accountability," helping participants reduce the risk of waste, fraud, and mismanagement, and support accountability efforts.
  • "Cost-Benefit Analysis," introducing how this analysis can improve decision-making, public welfare, and efficiency.

Phil Davidson, Senior Instructor for Financial Management at Management Concepts, will present:

  • "Antideficiency Act – Practical Application Workshop," which discusses 12 types of ADA violations, using real-life examples to emphasize legal requirements and how effective funds control provides the best protection against violations.
  • "Budgeting and Accounting: Making the Connection," a mini-course designed for junior DoD or contract employees: accountants wanting insight into DoD budgeting, budgeteers wanting insight into DoD accounting, and systems people seeking to implement new financial systems.

Rob Cote, Instructor for Analytics at Management Concepts, will present "Use of Analytical and Reporting Tools to Address Audit Concerns," which provides participants an understanding of how these tools can be used to remediate audit findings, improve internal controls, and sustain improvements.
