Planview Horizons® 2017 takes place Oct. 17-19 with award-winning triathlete and software engineer, Patricia Walsh, to address global conference attendees

AUSTIN, Texas, May 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- This year marks the 20th anniversary of Horizons, the annual Planview® customer conference, taking place Oct. 17-19 at the Fairmont Austin, a new luxury hotel with state-of-the-art meeting facilities opening September 2017. More than 600 attendees representing virtually every industry will gather at Horizons for three days to celebrate the global conference's 20th anniversary, network with peers and thought leaders, gain work and resource management best practices, learn about Planview products and roadmaps, and hear keynote speaker Patricia Walsh.

Diagnosed with a severe brain tumor, Patricia Walsh became blind at age five due to complications of surgery. Today, she is a world champion triathlete, award-winning engineer, and author of Blind Ambition – an inspirational novel that details her fuel / fire / blaze approach to achieving any goal. Patricia was one of the first blind engineers at Microsoft®, and has held positions in enterprise architecture and program management at global companies.

"I am honored to be keynoting Planview's 20th annual Horizons customer conference in October," said Patricia Walsh. "My life journey of overcoming the obstacles that came with loss of sight at an early age has had its ups and downs, and through this process I realized it takes determination, teamwork and a winning mindset to ultimately succeed. I look forward to sharing my personal and professional story with the Horizons 2017 attendees, and imparting practical and aspirational approaches for how they can strive for positive outcomes under any circumstances."

"Planview is excited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Horizons and feature Patricia Walsh as our conference keynote speaker this year," said Scott Hardey, Planview's chief customer officer. "We will be welcoming back many customers that have attended over the years and they will be joined by a large number of first-timers, which together with the Planview team and the comprehensive, interactive agenda create this level of engagement that participants say makes Horizons a truly unique and rewarding experience."

Throughout the three-day conference, attendees in roles spanning PMO leaders, project and portfolio managers, enterprise architects, strategic planners, and administrators will have access to the Planview leadership team and solution experts. Product tracks and training sessions will be held on all Planview products, including Planview Enterprise®, Innotas®, Troux®, and Projectplace®.
