May 17^th Production Discussions

• Torque Converters: Addressing the Needs of Modern Powertrains at 3 p.m.
  Brian Zaugg, director of product development, torque converter, will share how engineers can balance fuel economy and NVH through use of the centrifugal pendulum absorber and 4-Pass clutch technology in the torque converter.
• Reduction of Energy Losses in Transmission Systems at 5:15 p.m.
  Matt Frary, director of transmission applications, will discuss friction reduction loses in bearing and clutch packs. Solutions for both conventional and hybrid systems, including power on-demand accumulators with low energy consumption, Schaeffer's E-Clutch system and its P2 hybrid module engine disconnect clutch, will be discussed.

May 18^th Product Discussions

• Dedicated Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) Hybrid at 12:15 p.m.
  Maximilian Podschwadt, program manager for CVT, will showcase Schaeffler's dedicated plug-in hybrid concept for front-transverse application that's based on a CVT. The presentation provides a detailed overview on powertrain modeling and an evaluation of fuel efficiency and vehicle performance.
• Hybrid Transmission and Electric Drives at 12:15 p.m.
  Patrick Lindemann, vice president transmission systems and hybrid drives, will cover Schaeffler's Mobility for tomorrow emobility activities, including E-drives from front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive applications, as well as compare P2 hybrid designs and requirements.
