Tresys Technology Achieves Commercial Export Status For Cross Domain Solution, XD Guardian

COLUMBIA, Md., May. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tresys Technology today announced that it has received certification from the U.S. Government that enables its cross-domain solution, XD Guardian, to be exported under the Commerce Department's Export Administration Regulations (EAR) rather than the Department of State's International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which cover defense articles on the U.S. Munitions List. The new EAR classification will simplify and speed the fulfillment of orders for XD Guardian.

XD Guardian, a cross-domain appliance, is currently being sponsored through the rigorous Secret and Below Interoperability (SABI) certification process as part of a U.S. Department of Defense program. SABI certification is expected to complete the third quarter of this year.

When complete, XD Guardian will be the only cross-domain solution that is certified against the U.S. Government's most rigorous cross-domain security standard and can be exported without an export license from the U.S. State Department.

"This EAR designation opens the door for export of our cross-domain technology to approved destinations worldwide. We look forward to marketing XD Guardian on a global basis alongside strategic partners such as Data Device Corporation, a market leader in connectivity, power and motion control solutions, whose manufacturing capabilities and market-leading technology have enabled us to offer this best-in-class cross domain solution," said Robert Stalick, CEO of Tresys. "This development is especially valuable for system integrators building exportable systems, like the Joint Strike Fighter, that require certified cross-domain guards for both U.S. and non-U.S. networks depending on where the systems are deployed."

The most cost-effective cross-domain solution on the market today, XD Guardian combines security with unmatched flexibility. Functionally equivalent to XD Bridge, an industry-leading cross-domain solution currently available to U.S. customers, XD Guardian's integrated hardware and software supports unidirectional and bidirectional transfer of data between networks. The product features flexible filtering that is capable of file type white/blacklisting, antivirus scanning, XML schema validation, and deep content inspection of complex file types. The product's design enables rapid development of application-specific data filtering, including custom security policies and filters.

XD Guardian will be on display with Tresys' partner Data Device Corporation at Japan's largest information security exhibition, Japan IT Week Information Security Expo, from May 10–12 in Tokyo.
