In an upcoming seminar, teacher favorites Kristin Hilty and Anni Stipek offer resources and strategies to help teachers of grades 1–5 manage their time with students all while hitting content requirements. They'll discover how to enrich learning with morning warm-ups, whole-class instruction, flexible grouping, individual conferencing, and ongoing assessment. In addition, they'll examine how to create lessons that integrate mathematical concepts with real-world experiences.

One by one, she and Stipek will reveal the secrets behind classroom arrangements and configurations, and how to establish procedures and routines to make the most of the time teachers do have.
Throughout the two days, teachers also will explore the use of language in the math classroom and how it is essential to meeting the high expectations of today's standards. The presenters will not only introduce strategies and activities that can easily be woven into instruction, but will also guide attendees through the process of building an activity-filled math journal. "My hope is that every teacher who attends takes the journal they create back to their classroom to use as a model for their students," adds Hilty.
