GUADALAJARA, Mexico, Feb. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The 121st China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) landed in Mexico for the first time by hosting a remote video promotion conference in Mexico's second largest city Guadalajara on Feb. 23.
The conference gathered more than 150 local traders, media outlets and representatives from 26 national and local business associations such as the National Chamber of Electronic Industry and Electrical Communications.
Known as "Silicon Valley in Mexico", Guadalajara is a potential hub for international trade as it has been developing electronic and information as pillar industry with cotton, food, building materials, metal processing and footwear being supporting industries.
Zou Chuanming, Economic and Commercial counselor of Chinese Embassy in the United Mexican States, gave a keynote speech at the conference. He noted that Canton Fair has played a crucial role in promoting international trade between China and Mexico as a premium business platform. He encouraged Mexican business partners to participate in the Canton Fair to further advance the bilateral trade.
Based on the specific purchasing needs, Yu Yi, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Canton Fair, profiled this year's fair, focusing on the electronic and electrical products, household electrical appliances, and textile and clothing exhibition zone.
Ruben Perez, General Manager of Jaltrade (international trade promotion agency of Jalisco state), introduced the incentive policies for Mexican potential buyers to attend the Canton Fair, while Jorge Morones, Vice President of the Jalisco Chapter, China Chamber Mexico, shared his experience of attending the Fair and purchasing products.
China Southern Airlines, Canton Fair's strategic cooperative partner, sponsored a roundtrip flight from Mexico City to Guangzhou to the luckiest Mexican buyers.
