Kadaxis Named BookTech Company of the Year at the 2016 FutureBook Awards

LONDON, Dec. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kadaxis announced that it has been named BookTech Company of the Year at the 2016 FutureBook Awards. The FutureBook conference, run by The Bookseller, is Europe's largest digital publishing conference and focuses on the ongoing influence and transformation of digital technology in the publishing industry.

Kadaxis, which was recently shortlisted for the 2016 BISG Industry Innovation Award, was represented by CEO and Founder Chris Sim. "Receiving recognition from an organization such as the Bookseller and their well-regarded judges, is an accolade we're proud of," said Sim. "Our vision is to develop tomorrow's book discovery solutions, by using data science to deeply understand books and readers. Today our technology helps publishers optimize their metadata, resulting in significant increases to book visibility in search. I'm pleased our message and progress resonated with the judges."  More information is available at: The Bookseller.

The BookTech Company of the Year Award, celebrates businesses whose technological innovations have the potential to make a unique impact on the industry in the years ahead. The award requires entrepreneurs to pitch before an independent panel of expert judges, which this year comprised: Managing Director of Ebury Publishing Rebecca Smart, CEO and co-founder of Unbound Dan Kieran, and CEO EMEA of TouchCast Paul Field.

The BookTech pitch-off featured four other finalists, chosen from thirty companies from around the world:

  • StoryTourist: is building an augmented reality app, that allows readers to experience books at the locations where the action takes place. The company was also awarded a Highly Commended mention.
  • Publishizer: matches authors with publishers during pre-order campaigns.
  • Joosr: enables rapid self-development through 20-minute summaries of books.
  • Novel Effect: uses real-time voice recognition to sync music and effects to connected devices, as readers read a book.
