PHOENIX, Oct. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fire, security, and life safety services provider Telgian Corporation today announced that Vice President of Integrated Systems Tom Parrish, SET, CFPS, PSP, will present on the various codes associated with proper fire alarm installations at the 2016 Texas Fire Marshals Conference October 16-21. The conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Austin.
Parrish will provide detail on how electrical code NFPA 70 works in conjunction with fire alarm code NFPA 72 and discuss the synergies that must exist between these codes and building codes. Parrish will offer the presentation three times throughout the conference, which sees an annual attendance of approximately 300 fire marshals. The presentations will take place on Wednesday, October 19, at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. CT in the Crowne Plaza Grand Ballroom, Room 2.
Parrish has been with Telgian for 16 years and currently leads the company's efforts for jurisdictional compliance, research and development. He serves on training and code development committees and manages the internal security and life safety program for all Telgian facilities. He has more than 25 years of experience in emergency response and fire protection. Previously he held positions with municipal fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services and in private industry system design and installation programs. Parrish currently serves as an on-call firefighter and is certified in firefighting, emergency medical treatment and hazardous materials response.

Parrish represents Telgian on several National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical committees and is a regular presenter at various industry conferences and meetings for Telgian. His extensive professional credentials include Level IV NICET Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Level III NICET Inspections and Testing and Master Electrician. He is board certified as a Physical Security Professional by ASIS and holds a bachelor's in Industrial Technology from the Kean University of New Jersey.
