Hollister Incorporated Receives Prestigious Award
Marks first time WOCN Society recognized industry partner with this award

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., July 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hollister Incorporated received the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses (WOCN®) Society 2016 President's Award during the WOCN Society and Canadian Association for Enterostomal Therapy (CAET) Joint Conference in Montreal, Canada on June 5. This marks the first time the society recognized an industry partner with this award. Hollister Incorporated is an independent, employee-owned company that develops, manufactures, and markets healthcare products, educational materials and services worldwide.

The award is given at the discretion of the WOCN president to a healthcare provider, WOCN member, corporation, individual or group who has made significant contributions to the society and to the wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) nursing field.

"Hollister earned this recognition for being a long-time industry partner to the society and for demonstrating its commitment to the WOC nurse specialty," said Carolyn Watts, MSN, RN, CWON, and WOCN Society president.

Hollister has been a strong supporter of the WOCN Society for many years and provides unrestricted educational grants to support the WOCN program, "Educating Today for Exceptional Outcomes Tomorrow." The program develops and promotes educational, clinical and research opportunities that support the delivery of care to individuals with wound, ostomy or continence issues. Some components of this program include live streaming of conference sessions; a conference "library pass" allowing attendees access to a wealth of recorded presentations; support to develop core curriculum textbooks and best-practice guidelines; and program support that provides students and WOC nurses with a variety of strategies and educational materials critical to their learning.

"The President's Award is well recognized by the WOCN membership and speaks volumes to the work done by Hollister to support patients, WOC nurses, and the WOCN Society," said Joy Boarini, director, Global Clinical Education, Hollister Incorporated. "We are honored to be the first industry partner for WOCN to receive this award."

The award was presented at the opening ceremony of the WOCN and CAET Joint Conference, which ran June 4-8, in Montreal. Upon the announcement, the approximately 1,000 attendees in attendance during the general session gave Hollister a standing ovation. Joy Boarini and Sal Mancini, vice president of Clinical Education and Commercial Excellence, accepted the award on behalf of Hollister.
