2nd Periscope Community Summit One Month Away
Live Streaming Devotee Event Builds On New York Success

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The most popular user-generated live streaming event comes to San Francisco January 14-17 for the second Periscope Community Summit, a gathering that will feature technology expertise, social media connections, music and camaraderie.

More than 1,000 Periscope enthusiasts and evangelists will be attending to hear from digital content experts and online personalities such as journalist/historian Dan Snow (@thehistoryguy), actor Lenny Jacobson (@Lennyjacobson, "Big Time in Hollywood"), Rackspace futurist Robert Scoble (@scobleizer) and "Ask a Millionaire" entrepreneur Shawn Thomas (@akashawnthomas), among many others.

Event highlights include:

  • Performances from actor/comedian Kirk Fox ("Parks and Recreation") and musician Tom Rhodes ("The Voice")
  • Panels including Effective Storytelling for Your Brand; Legal Issues in Live Streaming; Rise of the Underdog Musician; and Comedy via Live Stream.
  • Discussions about social good projects, including AJ Joshi's ScopeForGood and Derek Cowan's Help The Journey.

"This one is going to be even bigger than New York," said Ryan A. Bell, founder of the Periscope Community Summit, referring to the inaugural gathering in September.  "When Robert Scoble told me that we had the next SXSW and PCMag compared us to VidCon, our team started building this event to hold more content and have an even larger reach.'"

Noting the increased interest in major brands engaging with the Periscope community, Bell said, "When SanDisk called and told me that they wanted to release a new product at Periscope Summit instead of CES, I was flabbergasted."

The event, to be held at the Park Central Hotel on Third Street in San Francisco, builds on the massive success of the initial Periscope Community Summit in September. That New York event trended globally on Twitter – even with the Pope visiting New York at the same time – and showed the power of Periscope, just seven months after the launch of the Twitter-owned app.

This Periscope Community Summit is presented by T-Mobile, SanDisk, Arkon Mounts, katch.me, FullScope.TV, and Anker Batteries, with other sponsorships to be announced soon.
