Southeast's Largest Annual Gathering of Life Science and Biotechnology Professionals: Carolina-South Atlantic Chapter of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering Holds Its 26th Annual Life Sciences Technology Conference in Raleigh, NC on March 12, 2019

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Carolina-South Atlantic Chapter of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering will host more than 1,300 life science and biotechnology professionals from major pharmaceutical companies, universities, and industries in the southeast and beyond at the 26th Annual ISPE-CaSA Life Sciences Technology Conference on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh, N.C.

Andy Stober, Senior Vice President - Technical Operations, Chief Technical Officer at AveXis, Inc. will open the conference with his keynote address on "Breaking Barriers in Gene Therapy Manufacturing." He will focus on the incredible story of AveXis' novel gene therapy platform and the company's transformational work that has the potential to dramatically change the lives of patients diagnosed with devastating genetic diseases such as spinal muscular atrophy. This exciting new modality introduces new challenges to manufacturing and supply for patients. Attendees will gain insights into the success factors and lessons learned in the journey from the clinic to commercial manufacturing, and how this pathway was anything but status quo.

After the conference, a special fundraising reception for Project ALS: Team Chris Combs will be hosted by ISPE-CaSA Women in Pharma at the Stockroom at 230 in downtown Raleigh. Project ALS will be accepting contributions during the daylong conference and at the reception.

The 2019 conference will feature 200 exhibitors, multiple tracks of continuing education programming, special education sessions and a career fair for students and young professionals.

The event is open to the public. Registration at the door on the day of the event is $85. Pre-registration fees for students are $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers and up to $75 for other attendees. Registration includes all program sessions, networking opportunities at the industry expo, breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks, throughout the day.
