MIAMI, Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --Organized by the Florida International Bankers Association (FIBA), the second annual FIBATech Conference will take place in Miami, Florida on Wednesday, October 31st at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami.

Designed to foster thought-provoking discussions and dynamic idea exchanges among the banking sector, industry influencers and innovative financial technology companies, this year's event will focus on blockchain and virtual currencies: their disruptive power, potential applications, case studies, risks, tax implications and regulation.

This one-day roundtable session will also cover a variety of other topics, including:

  • ICOs and the future of regulating decentralized money
  • Real estate transactions and the use of virtual currency by high net worth clients
  •  Banking cryptocurrencies: from fear to opportunity
  • AML/tax implications of Virtual Currencies and ICOs

Executives from global corporations such as Barclays and Microsoft as well as regulators from Mexico, the U.K. and the U.S. will debate the future of banking with Fintechs, including Forbes 50 Fintech companies Chainanalysis and Coinbase.

"Global investment in financial technology is increasing dramatically and there is no question that the banking sector is being deeply impacted by Fintechs," stated David Schwartz, president and CEO of FIBA. "The challenge for the banks is to learn how to adapt and embrace those changes, so that they manage to reshape their business model themselves, before the marketplace does it for them."
