Learning Machine Wins Grand Prize In Xingshi-Cup International Industrial Design Hackathon
In Event Hosted by Hanhai BioLabs & Hackhub, Learning Machine Created Peazy a New Thumbprint Login for All Passwords Focusing on Empathy With End Users

BURLINGAME, Calif., Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The annual Xingshi-Cup International Design Hackathon concluded this weekend with 109 people registered, more than 20 teams competing, 12 teams presenting and 16 products produced and submitted. The weekend was filled with individuals pushing the envelope with teamwork, innovation and creativity, capturing a wide array of applicants from freshmen in college to accomplished business professionals. The five winning teams at Silicon Valley will move onto the final competition in Foshan, China at the end of November.

On September 29, 2018 at 9 AM local time, the doors opened at Hanhai BioLabs' Burlingame office. Teams of five assembled to compete for a $15,000 grand prize. Panera Bread and SV Catering provided the fuel to keep the competitors focused and ready to hack. The competition concluded on September 30, 2018 at 4 PM. Six guests judges helped evaluate products and present prizes to the winning teams that placed. Taking the top prize was Learning Machine, followed by a tie for second place between Free Virus and Derma AI, as well as a tie for third place between Empact and Freedom. Each team had a unique product focusing on empathy with end users.

The grand prize winner Learning Machine team consists of four exchange students at Stanford University.  Their product Peazy is a step toward making passwords obsolete. Peazy uses biometrics and mobile devices to log into all of your passwords to allow for seamless access to personal information with progressive security precautions.
