Local Motors Delivers Two Ollis to Autonomous Mobility

Local Motors and Autonomous Mobility jointly demonstrate at ITS World Congress 2018

PHOENIX, Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Local Motors by LM Industries Group Inc., known for 3D-Printed mobility solutions, is attending the ITS World Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark where its self-driving shuttle will continue to be in the spotlight. The shuttle, known as Olli, will offer rides to attendees and dignitaries at the conference, a week after a groundbreaking showing at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, where it provided the first-ever autonomous transportation for conference attendees.

Local Motors has delivered two new Olli shuttles to Autonomous Mobility, the leading provider of autonomous solutions in the Nordics and the Baltic. Autonomous Mobility is changing transportation as we know it and believes that tomorrow's mobility solutions should be helpful, simple and seamless. Local Motors has aligned with Autonomous Mobility exclusively, as a sales and operator partner for the Nordics and the Baltic, as we share the same mission and look forward to shaping how communities think and integrate about smart transportation.

"To say the least, the past few weeks have been exciting ones for Olli and Local Motors as we showcase the future of sustainable transportation to audiences that are eagerly searching for innovative solutions," Jay Rogers, CEO and co-founder of LM Industries, said.

Part of that audience included Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, who took a ride in the eight-person shuttle at the IMTS conference, which was held just weeks after an Olli shuttle was deployed to the University at Buffalo. The partnership between the State of New York, Local Motors and the school allows Olli to be used for mapping, autonomous education and to test potential transportation options.

"Two of Olli's most impressive qualities are its versatility for use and its responsiveness," Rogers said. "We look forward to demonstrating Olli's dynamic obstacle avoidance technology this week at ITS."

Olli, which employs a responsive cognitive function and a Robotic Research-developed autonomous drive system, is an environmentally-friendly vehicle designed to change the future of mobility. A safe and efficient shuttle, Olli is a viable and sustainable transportation option for cities, hospitals, campuses, entertainment districts and any other location where people need to move from one place to another.

Olli's movement can't happen without tires, which are being provided as part of an exclusive partnership between Local Motors and The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.  To learn more about Olli, visit localmotors.com.
