The session, titled, "Cryptography Uses and Misuses Part II – Asymmetric Cryptography and Key Exchange," is scheduled August 6-7.
Lindell, a long-time researcher and academic author, is a professor of computer science at Bar-Ilan University. He has published more than 90 scientific articles and authored one of the most widely used textbooks on the subject. He has presented at numerous international conferences and served on program committees for some of the world's preeminent cryptography-related events.
His course will explain the function, guarantees, proper uses and main attacks against asymmetric cryptographic primitives. Since misuses of cryptography can have catastrophic results, Lindell will use real-world examples to demonstrate recommended constructions and proper implementation. The focus will be on asymmetric cryptography including RSA, Elliptic Curve Crypto, Post-Quantum Crypto and Key Exchange.
