Media Advisory: Hudson Institute to Host Discussion on Department of Defense Cloud Computing

WASHINGTON, July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On July 30, Hudson Institute will host a discussion on the Department of Defense's July 26 decision to officially move ahead with a single cloud provider for the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI). Hudson's independent Task Force on Federal IT Procurement – comprised of leading technologists and policy experts – will assess the impact of this decision on the future of the cloud industry and the IT procurement landscape. They will also discuss emerging issues of best practice, security and innovation surrounding JEDI, and how to maximize performance, transparency, and taxpayer value in this new era of cloud computing.

Members of the press can RSVP to Hudson Institute Press Secretary, Carolyn Stewart, at cstewart@hudson.org or (202) 974-6456.

  • What: "Requirements for a Successful Military Cloud: Best Practices, Innovation and Security" panel discussion
  • When: July 30, 2018, 12:00pm to 1:30pm
  • Where: Hudson Institute
  • 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Suite 400
  • Washington, D.C. 20004
  • Why: On July 26, the Department of Defense (DoD) released a final Request for Proposals that officially declared the Pentagon would award a single contract for the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud computing initiative.
