LEMONT, Ill., July 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Monday, over 700 conservative high school students gathered to kick-off the start of Turning Point USA's 2018 High School Leadership Summit. The 4-day conference takes place from July 23-26, 2018 at George Washington University in Washington, DC and brings together some of the nation's most well-known conservative leaders.
Adding to the excitement is the announcement that U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will be speaking alongside a strong line-up of influential speakers including Mark Cuban, Donald Trump, Jr., Attorney General Jeff Sessions, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, Senator Rand Paul, Judge Jeanine Pirro, and many more. She is passionate about empowering parents and advocating for children and has worked to support reforms that aid underserved children's access to education and establish new educational choices for students.
DeVos is a strong conservative leader who believes that a zip-code or a household's income shouldn't determine the quality of a child's education. As secretary, she is an advocate for more localized control of education that provides parents with greater choices and power to ensure their children are receiving a quality education that puts them on a path to career success.
Turning Point USA's High School Leadership invites hundreds of selected high school students to learn about grassroots activism, leadership training, and politics.
