The Summit brings together thyroid health experts, doctors and wellness professionals, nutrition specialists, and prominent figures in the Hashimoto's and autoimmunity communities to give patients the tools they need to manage and ultimately heal the disease.

"Just like the people we serve, most of the hosts of the Healing Hashimoto's Summit have Hashimoto's," said HeyHashi cofounder Pearl Thomas. "That's important! They've done it, so they know the strategies they are sharing actually work. Registrants learn from their personal stories, plus the advice, tips and in-clinic practices from the experts they've relied on, not just to diagnose and manage this disease, but to live with hope, purpose and companionship."

The select group of 2017 Healing Hashimoto's Summit sponsors includes Dr. Datis Kharrazian's One to One. Featured presenters will include internationally-acclaimed functional nutritionist Andrea Nakayama, Autoimmune Wellness founder and author Mickey Trescott, thyroid and brain health expert Dr. Datis Kharrazian, Dr. Izabella Wentz (an expert in clinical pharmacology and lifestyle interventions), and functional naturopathic practitioner Jolene Brighten.

53 million Americans suffer from autoimmune disease, and an estimated 22 million of those people suffer from Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Though tens of millions of people have been diagnosed with this sometimes devastating illness, many still have only limited support. And many more go without an official diagnosis for years.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis is a progressive autoimmune disease that causes primary hypothyroidism, and it was the first illness to be recognized as an autoimmune disease. The most common symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, pale or puffy face, feeling cold, joint and muscle pain, constipation, dry and thinning hair, heavy menstrual flow or irregular periods, depression, panic disorder, a slowed heart rate, and problems getting pregnant and staying pregnant.
