Joe Davis of Vanguard and Richard Thaler of The University of Chicago to Address Morningstar 2017 ETF Conference Attendees in Keynote Sessions
Full agenda and speakers announced for the upcoming conference Sept. 6-8 in Chicago

CHICAGO, July 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Morningstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: MORN), a leading provider of independent investment research, has announced the speakers and agenda for its eighth annual ETF Conference, Sept. 6-8 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The conference features experts from across the exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry including Morningstar analysts, who will discuss tactics, strategies, and portfolio insights for financial professionals.

Joe Davis, global chief economist and global head of Vanguard Investment Strategy Group, will deliver the opening keynote address on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Richard Thaler, Charles R. Walgreen Distinguished Service Professor of behavioral science and economics at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, will give the keynote luncheon address on Thursday, Sept. 7.

General session speakers on Thursday, Sept. 7 are Andrew Ang, BlackRock; Chris Brightman, CFA, Research Affiliates; and Barry Ritholtz, Ritholtz Wealth Management. Jamil Baz, PIMCO, will address attendees on Friday, Sept. 8.

The conference offers 10 breakout sessions, where speakers from BlackRock/iShares, Fidelity Investments, PIMCO, State Street Global Advisors, Vanguard, and WisdomTree, among other companies, will cover an array of timely topics, including the rise of passive investing, liquid alternatives, and the evolving regulatory landscape.

The conference will kick off with Morningstar's research showcase on Sept. 6 from 1-4 p.m. CT, led by Johnson and Alex Bryan, Morningstar's director of passive strategies research for North America. They will share key findings from recent research including Morningstar's Active/Passive Barometer and the annual global strategic beta landscape report.
