NAPPM to Present at AAOS 2017 Annual Meeting

MELVILLE, N.Y., March 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- North American Partners in Pain Management (NAPPM), a division of North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA), announced today that its Director for Pain Management, John Stamatos, MD, will be a featured speaker at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2017 Annual Meeting. Dr. Stamatos will be co-presenting on the topic, "Integrated Pain Management Approach in the Care of the Total Joint Replacement Patient" on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 8:15am. The event will be held March 14-18 at the San Diego Convention Center, CA. The premier event draws over 30,000 participants including Academy Fellows, international guests and allied health professionals.

Dr. Stamatos stated, "Multimodal pain management is an integral component of the perioperative care plan for patients undergoing a total joint replacement. The benefits of pain relief not only positively affect patient comfort but also enable earlier rehabilitation, decreasing the risk of complications such as deep vein thrombosis, and increasing the likelihood of a successful recovery."

During his presentation Dr. Stamatos, along with his colleagues Ellen Cunningham, RN, MSN and Eugene Krauss, MD, FAAOS, FACS will evaluate the utilization of a pain management services to enhance patient outcomes and adopt relevant practices.

Dr. Stamatos is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management as well as a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
