OBERD collaborates with Oxford University Innovation to promote web-based best-in-class PROMs at AAOS 2017

COLUMBIA, Mo., Feb. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- OBERD will be promoting the best-in-class Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) licensed by Oxford University Innovation (OUI) at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' (AAOS) Annual Meeting this year. OBERD has collaborated with OUI to develop web-based versions of the Oxford Hip Score, the Oxford Knee Score, Oxford Shoulder Score, Oxford Participation and Activities Questionnaire, and the Parkinson's Disease Questionnaires.

"The Oxford forms are some of the most respected and widely deployed outcome measures used by the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare providers, academia and medical device manufacturers," said Ali Hussam, Ph.D., CEO and Founder of OBERD. "We are honored to have been trusted by Oxford University Innovation to offer these validated instruments electronically to patients in the US."

OUI has been working with OBERD for several years, ensuring the web-based versions of their clinical outcome assessment measures, developed at University of Oxford and elsewhere, maintain the integrity of the originals. "We continue to be impressed by the OBERD system, and the rigorous and robust processes OBERD employs to implement the validated health outcome measures we manage," said David Churchman, Ph.D., Business Lead of the Clinical Outcomes team at OUI. "The Oxford Hip and Knee Scores have been approved by CMS for use in orthopaedics, and we're happy that OBERD can make these, and the other Oxford forms, widely available to their and our international user base." Dr. Churchman continued, "We've found great value from collaborating with the innovative team at OBERD on new developments in the area of Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) of our gold standard outcome measures. The results being that we can uniquely deliver reduced respondent burden versions of our measures, whilst retaining the all-important measurement performance of our outcome measures."

OBERD will be attending AAOS 2017 (booth #1809), and showcasing the Oxford forms. For more information or a demo, call 573.442.7101 or visit http://www.oberd.com.
