PhRMA Kicks Off National Health Care Dialogue to Examine the New Era of Medicine
Event in Boston focuses on advancements in medicine revolutionizing patient care and treating most vexing diseases

WASHINGTON, Feb. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) will sponsor its first national health care dialogue series today in Boston, Massachusetts. The Atlantic will convene this inaugural conversation, titled: "Through the Microscope: Examining Modern Medicine." The event will explore the transformation of patient care and the science that has revolutionized medical breakthroughs, new treatments and technologies, as well as the investments needed for future innovation. 

Today's event is the first in a national dialogue series PhRMA is supporting as part of its new GOBOLDLY campaign. The events and programming will include a cross-section of industry stakeholders and health care thought leaders, including world-renowned scientists, researchers and other experts.

Dr. Laurie Glimcher, CEO of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will deliver the keynote address. Mr. Ubl will participate in an underwriter series one-on-one conversation with Joe Shortsleeve, Emmy award winning journalist and long-time anchor and investigative reporter at Boston's WBZ.  

Leading biopharmaceutical scientists participating in the panel discussions include Dr. Daniel Skovronsky, the senior vice president of Drug Development at Eli Lilly and Gilmore O'Neill, the senior vice president of the Drug Innovation Units at Biogen.
