ENGIE Resources Greens Power Consumption of Globalcon Conference & Expo for Eighth Consecutive Year

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ENGIE Resources – the third-largest non-residential electricity provider in the United States – announced that it will supply renewable energy certificates (RECs) to the Globalcon Conference & Expo.  This is the eighth consecutive year the supplier will green 100 percent of the estimated energy consumption of the Association of Energy Engineers' (AEE) annual two-day event, which will be held March 22-23 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

The Green-e® certified RECs represent the environmental attributes or benefits associated with a specific quantity of energy generated from a renewable source, such as solar or wind.  Organizations that use RECs to offset their indirect greenhouse gas emissions help fund the operation and development of domestic sources of renewable energy.

"From its mission to foster sustainable development to the educational content offered through its annual meeting, AEE's commitment to environmental responsibility is clear," said J.D. Burrows, Vice President of Marketing for ENGIE Resources.  "We're proud to continue working with an organization that shares in our dedication to clean energy and to creating a better world through innovative energy solutions."

AEE Executive Director Albert Thumann said, "Having the support of ENGIE – a leader in sustainability and renewable energy – is critical as we work to promote environmental responsibility as a key component in successful energy management strategies.  We're thankful to have them contribute once again in such a meaningful way to the annual Globalcon Conference & Expo."

The Globalcon Conference & Expo is aimed at business, industry, and government leaders who are seeking energy solutions that assure a safe, secure power supply and effective management of costs.
