Vencore's Zalenda Cyrille Receives Modern Day Technology Leader Award at 31st Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference

CHANTILLY, Va., Feb. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Vencore, Inc. announced today that Zalenda Cyrille, program director with Vencore, received the Modern Day Technology Leaders Award during the 2017 Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Conference in Washington, D.C. on Friday, February 10.

The BEYA Modern Day Technology Leaders Award recognizes an individual's commitment to shaping the future of STEM and recognizes mid-career professionals for their dedication and effort in strengthening the STEM pipeline.

Over the last several years, Cyrille has played a key role in educating both government and industry on the principles behind agile development. She has trained over 200 people across multiple offices and organizations to become certified practitioners, helping to revolutionize the way software development is performed at the government level. Cyrille's technical expertise has also played an instrumental role in Vencore's ongoing success. As a program director at Vencore, she has provided the federal government with critical systems engineering, agile development and project management support at an enterprise level.

In addition to her work contributions, Cyrille actively volunteers in STEM organizations, mentoring young people on careers in engineering.  She has also served as a board member for Project Discovery and the Mid-Atlantic Girls Collaborative, in addition to co-founding her own nonprofit aimed at developing future leaders and effective communicators.
