Facebook, Ragan team up for breakthrough social media conference for comms pros

CHICAGO, Jan. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Time is running out to grab a spot at the must-attend social media conference of 2017.

PR and social media professionals interested in attending the Leadership Communications and Social Media conference at Facebook's headquarters must act fast if they want to secure a seat, says conference organizer Mark Ragan, CEO of Ragan Communications.

"This may be our most popular event of 2017," said Ragan, who also publishes PR Daily. "Our last event at Facebook sold out in five weeks. I'm afraid this conference may beat that record!"

The two-day event at Facebook will feature speakers from Walmart, TOMS, Zillow and Facebook itself. The conference will be streamed live for communicators who can't attend in person.

"If your work involves executive communications, reputation management or social media, you need to be there," said Ragan.

Industry-leading chief executives Richard Edelman, Don Baer of Burson-Marsteller and Spencer Rascoff of Zillow will deliver keynote addresses at the Facebook Leadership Communications Summit, running Feb. 23–24, 2017.

The conference caters to PR and internal communications professionals, executive communicators, speechwriters and reputation managers. It has already attracted communicators from The Coca-Cola Company, Gap, Hootsuite, Kohl's, PayPal, Visa, Bayer, Citrix and other Fortune 500 companies.

Those who register early will have a chance to tour the famous Facebook campus in Menlo Park, California.

Speakers will cover how communicators can use Facebook Live and Instagram to craft messages that get noticed and shared by employees, customers, prospects and journalists.

Companies with social media-shy executives will discover tips and strategies for persuading top-tier executives to use live-casts to communicate with stakeholders.

Day One will offer immersive workshops on the latest tips and tactics for Facebook, Facebook Live, Workplace by Facebook, and Instagram. Day two features a case study from Walmart, as well as PR leaders and practitioners from TOMS and others.
